Frequently asked questions
Why are the timings different from my printed panchang?
Panchangs differ in their calculation method and ayanamsa, and every timing depends on the exact city. Panchang uses the Lahiri ayanamsa and your selected city’s sunrise, so small differences of a few minutes are normal. Check that the right city is selected first. If a value is off by much more, please email us the date and city.
How do I change my city?
Open the menu at the top-left of the app. Under Location you can pick a recent city, search for any town, or tap “Use my location”.
“Use my location” isn’t working.
Make sure location permission is allowed for Panchang in your phone settings and that you have an internet connection; finding the city name needs a quick online lookup. You can always search for your city by name instead.
Does the app need internet?
No. All panchang calculations run on your phone. Internet is only used when you search for a new city or use your location.
How do I change the language or theme?
Open the menu at the top of the app. You can choose Hinglish, Hindi, Gujarati or English, and a light, dark or system theme.
Do I need an account? How do I delete my account?
There are no accounts in Panchang, so there is nothing to sign up for or delete. Your settings live only on your phone; clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling it removes them. See Deleting your data.
Is the app free?
Yes. Every feature is free. The app is supported by ads, and there are no subscriptions.
